Lymphatic Drainage

The lymphatic system is essentially part of the immune system and consists of a network of tissues, vessels, and organs. The lymphatic system is responsible for removing wastes, toxins, and other unwanted materials from the body, as well as maintaining fluid balance and fighting off infections.

The lymphatic system circulates a colorless, watery fluid called “lymph” through the body. If the normal flow of the lymph is interfered with it can result in the buildup of lymphatic fluid, bacteria, and other substances in some parts of the body, this can lead to swelling.  Lymphatic drainage massage reduces swelling and promotes better circulation throughout the lymph system. This leads to a more effective absorption, transportation, and removal of toxins, viruses, bacteria, proteins, and other metabolic wastes, fortifying your defenses against disease.

Lymphatic massage is a very gentle and harmonious treatment that uses very light pressure and long strokes to move the lymph in a way the organs will be able to get the toxins out of the body effectively.

The lymph vessels are found throughout the body, about 70 percent of them are located just below the skin. These fragile vessels work to pick up fluids between the cell spaces when gentle pressure is applied to them from increased fluid build-up, muscle contractions, or pressure.

Cells depend on the lymphatic system to transport substances, communicate with other cells, and help them carry out their duties. A damaged lymphatic system can screw up many of these processes contributing to other health issues

An easy way to remember how the Lymphatic System works is it’s kind of like a garbage disposal. The lymphatic drainage system acts like a sanitation system for out body by getting rid of waste that our body naturally produces, or other things that can invade our body, like bacteria. The lymphatic system is what protects us from getting an infection

Lymphatic drainage massage improves the natural systems within the body, including the skin which will appear smoother and beautiful. Lymphatic drainage massage reduces fluid retention means the skin will appear less puffy and blotchy. The lymphatic drainage massage also boosts the immune system which will help with healing faster, less scaring, helps to reduce ugly stretch marks, breaks down the toxins that dimple the skin. This means that you can, in fact, helps to eliminate that dreaded cellulite!
