Infrared Sauna

What is an Infrared Sauna

Infrared heat is very gentle, where traditional saunas use heating elements to raise the temperature of the air inside; infrared saunas use infrared light to heat your body while the air around it stays virtually unchanged. The result is your core temperature rising without having to sit in a room as hot as a traditional sauna; this is why it is less likely to interfere with breathing and more likely to be manageable for an entire 60 minutes.      Infrared Saunas have so many benefits for the body we only have time and room to go over a few.

Detoxification is one major benefit

When toxins accumulate in tissues and aren’t effectively removed, they can lead to chronic conditions like cancer, arthritis, autoimmunity, autism, fibromyalgia, heart disease, dementia, Alzheimer’s and much more.

We are exposed to hundreds of toxins on the daily basis. So much so that 100 percent of blood and/or fat samples of the population tested positive for toxins. These toxins cause cellular damage.

Sweating is one of the body’s preferred way to get rid of toxins. That is why saunas are a great way to detox your body. According to Dr. Deitrich Klinghardt a renowned detoxification expert, “Infrared saunas mobilize specific toxins, like mercury, in deeper tissues.”  Also According to multiple studies sweat produced while in an infrared Sauna is about 20 percent toxins, cholesterol, heavy metals, ammonia, and acids.

Cardiovascular benefits

Infrared Saunas increases your core body temperature, tricking your immune system into thinking that you’re running a low grade  fever - a condition called hyperthermia. As a result your immune system triggers the release of white blood cells, lymphocytes, neutrophils, and interferons – all part of the body’s antiviral army.

Other Cardiovascular benefits of Infrared Saunas

  • correcting arrhythmias

  • dilates blood vessels lowering blood pressure

  • Repeated infrared sauna use can improve vascular endothelial function (the ability of your blood vessels to relax and contract) in patients with coronary risk factors.

Immune System Benefits

  • studies have also shown the increase in body temperature causes the release of heat shock proteins that deter viruses from reproducing and reduces the amount of inflammatory cytokines

  • Boost the immune system

Fitness/ Weight loss benefits

  • According to a study done by the journal of American medical association proved 30 min in and infrared sauna burns 600 calories

  • Reduces fatigue and improves energy levels.

  • Improves hunger and appetite signals

  • Studies have shown that regular infrared sauna will increase flexibility and range of motion by up to 300%. This increased range of motion also led to better joint mobility, less friction in the joints, and diminished stiffness.

  • Increases your metabolic rate, thus burning calories.

Pain and inflammation benefits

  • Increases the flow of oxygenated blood to the affected area relieving pain.

  • Nearly every disease is either caused by or worsened by inflammation and the anti-inflammatory benefits of an infrared sauna can improve the symptoms of virtually every chronic disease.

Skin and anti-aging benefits

  • In many studies infrared saunas have been shown to reduce oxidative damage at the cell level and to actually restore cell viability in damaged cells

  • Infrared saunas can easily penetrate the skin where fibroblast cells absorb components that help improve skin health and make you look younger.
